VIRTUAL EDUCATION

ASDS members are lifelong learners, continually improving and driving innovation in treatments and patient care. At the core of ASDS membership are educational and engagement opportunities for members to enhance their skill sets, improve practice management and grow their social capital. As the pandemic impacted our in-person education efforts, we expanded our digital offerings to continue to offer best-in-class education virtually. ADVANCED ANATOMY & INJECTION TECHNIQUES COURSE

Our 5-star rated course, “Advanced Anatomy & Injection Techniques”moved virtual to Sept. 11–13. The course featured case-based video presentations and patient demonstrations to help attendees discover innovative techniques to restore volume and augment features. Sue Ellen Cox, MD, and Vincent Bertucci, MD, FRCPC, co-directed the interactive course, which was attended by more than 150 members.

MICROGRAPHIC DERMATOLOGIC SURGERY EXAM REVIEW COURSE

ASDS launched a comprehensive high-level on-demand review of dermatologic surgery fundamentals and key knowledge in high-yield content areas outlined by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD) Study Guide to prepare for the MDS Subspecialty Certification Examination being administered for the first time during the fall of 2021. Directors Kishwer S. Nehal, MD, (through December 2020) and Rajiv I. Nijhawan, MD, lead participants in access readiness for the exam and identifying areas of individual competencies. Learning objectives including describing the process of obtaining, processing and interpreting specimens, concepts related to wound healing, post-operative care and much more.
