2020 ASDS VIRTUAL ANNUAL MEETING
The decision to move the ASDS Annual Meeting to a virtual format was difficult, yet it proved to be immensely successful with 1,461 attendees participating in the live meeting – and an additional 88 purchased on-demand access for the 30 days following the meeting. Attendees celebrated 50 years of kinship and camaraderie, innovation and learning with the best content in cosmetic dermatology, skin cancer / reconstruction and practice management.
“The Annual Meeting Work Group quickly regrouped to transform the planned live program into one that could be delivered virtually while remaining a meaningful experience.”
Shannon Humphrey, MD, FRCPC Chair, 2019-20 Annual Meeting Work Group
Attendees loved the virtual meeting platform, and social media was ablaze with screenshots being posted throughout the meeting. As one member put it, “Feeling like I’m in a professional (and much more educational) version of the Sims.” The virtual lobby provided an in-person feeling at home, and attendees were able to chat live with peers, exhibitors and faculty
throughout the event. Most educational sessions included live elements, allowing the interaction and conversation attendees eagerly anticipate each year. Attendees were able to earn up to 35.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ whether watching live or on-demand. Among the 50 educational sessions presented, the most popular were: • A dvanced Laser Combinations – 1,006 unique views • N euromodulators:
