Our peer-reviewed journal, “ Dermatologic Surgery ,” offers the most clinically comprehensive and up-to-date information in our specialty. The journal continues to be a highly respected resource. Not only is it an esteemed publication for our field, it is also a valuable resource for other medical professionals. Members can seamlessly navigate to the publisher’s website through a link on asds.net/Publications for full, complimentary access to all issues. In addition, over 25 years of journal archives are available at asds.net/Journal , providing the ability to search, notate and reference as needed. For 2020, we launched new videos on the journals website and developed the journals social media presence through the Journal FLN. These efforts improve the readers’ digital experience and promote the significant journal content.
SURGICAL DIRECTORS FORUM
SOFT-TISSUE FILLERS GUIDELINE Collaborating with other specialties for a common purpose builds professional camaraderie and creates opportunities to promote the breadth and scope of expertise. Reflective of the Society’s specialty expertise, the development of an evidence-based clinical practice guideline for soft-tissue filler complications was completed with Derek Jones, MD, leading an esteemed multi-specialty development team, plus two patient representatives. The team has been finalizing evidence collection, working in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic. Dermatologic Surgery published the guideline in its February 2021 issue. dermatology residency and Mohs and cosmetic fellowship programs. The forum identifies areas of common concern including cosmetic training in residency programs, best practices for cosmetic study, collaborative research and practical guidelines and issues. In 2020, Surgical Directors completed review and updates of the Literature-based Curriculum of Dermatologic Surgery and the updated edition was published on ASDS Learn.
