FUTURE LEADERS NETWORK (FLN)

VIRTUAL PROFESSOR PROGRAM

Completing its ninth year, FLN was created to develop and enhance the leadership skills of early-career members and prepare them to become the next generation of leaders in dermatologic surgery. During the year-long curriculum, young leaders work with experienced mentors on projects and initiatives that benefit ASDS and its members. For the 2020 program, three unique tracks were offered including the traditional project-based FLN, Journal FLN and Advocacy FLN. The ASDS Visiting Professor Program pivoted to a virtual format in 2020, enabling all dermatology residents no matter their location to benefit from renowned experts. 300 residents attended these sessions in 2020, learning insights during the one-hour sessions that conclude with a live Q&A. Topics included: • “Avoiding and Managing Complications with Hyaluronic Acid Fillers”with Deirdre Hooper, MD • “Perioperative Management of the Dermatologic Surgery Patient”with M. Laurin Council, MD • “Advances in Dermatologic Laser Surgery”with Paul Friedman, MD
